Why I Do This

An Operator's Perspective

I've been where you are. Running a boutique fitness studio means wearing every hat – from instructor to marketer to operations manager to accountant. It's exhilarating and exhausting, and it's easy to feel like you're always one step behind.

What I learned is that the difference between studios that thrive and those that struggle isn't passion or hard work – it's systems. Clear processes, data-informed decisions, and frameworks that let you step back and see the bigger picture.

My Philosophy

Systems should serve people, not the other way around. Every process I design starts with the question: "Will this actually work for a real person on a Tuesday morning?" If the answer is no, we redesign it.

Sustainability over speed. Quick wins are great, but I'm interested in building studios that can run smoothly for years – not just until the next crisis. That means thinking about what happens when you're not there, when staff changes, when things get busy.

Clarity creates confidence. When you know exactly where you stand – financially, operationally, strategically – you can make decisions without second-guessing. That's what I help you build.

Why Boutique Fitness Specifically?

Big-box gym strategies don't work for boutique studios. Your challenges are different: higher per-member value, more personal relationships, tighter margins, and a brand that's deeply connected to your values.

I understand the unique economics of boutique fitness – the balance between premium pricing and accessibility, the importance of community, the reality of instructor costs, and the complexity of managing capacity in a space-limited environment.

This isn't generic business consulting repackaged. It's built specifically for the realities of running a boutique studio.

How I Work

Collaborative, not prescriptive. I don't show up with a one-size-fits-all playbook. We start with your studio, your challenges, and your goals. Then we build systems that fit.

Pragmatic, not perfect. I'd rather give you something that works 80% of the time and you'll actually use, than something perfect that sits in a folder. We iterate, we adjust, we make it real.

No BS. If something isn't working, I'll tell you. If the numbers don't add up, we'll figure out why. If you're asking the wrong question, I'll help you find the right one.

Working together should feel like having a trusted advisor who gets it – someone who understands both the creative side of running a studio and the business side of making it sustainable.
